1952 Topps set

If there is one vintage baseball card set collectors would love to own more than any other, it is likely the 1952 Topps set.

Representing the company’s first-ever attempt at a major card set, 1952 Topps baseball cards created a new era. Topps wanted to make a splash with kids and the company succeeded by producing a then unheard of 407 card set. It was the largest single-year issue any company had ever produced. While earlier baseball cards were small, designed for the little hands that often held them, the ’52 Topps set went big. In 1952, Topps used six printing sheets, producing the cards in different series, each card with its own number.
